The Sacrament of Confirmation strengthens and deepens our bond with God, completing the grace we received at Baptism and preparing us for a mature life of faith. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit bestows His gifts upon us—wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord—empowering us to live as committed disciples of Christ. This sacrament seals us with the Spirit, helping us to witness boldly to our faith and live it fully in our daily lives.

The roots of Confirmation lie in the event of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, filling them with courage and zeal to spread the Gospel. Similarly, in Confirmation, we receive an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, equipping us to serve the Church and witness to Christ. During the sacrament, the bishop or priest anoints the candidate with sacred chrism oil, saying, "Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit." This anointing marks us as God’s own and strengthens our commitment to His mission.

Confirmation is a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit, who inspires, guides, and strengthens us for the journey of faith. It calls us to a deeper relationship with Christ and a greater responsibility in the Church, where we are invited to share our unique gifts and live as witnesses to the Gospel. We invite all who are eligible to embrace this sacrament and experience the fullness of God’s Spirit as they walk the path of Christian life.

El Sacramento de la Confirmación fortalece y profundiza nuestro vínculo con Dios, completando la gracia que recibimos en el Bautismo y preparándonos para una vida de fe madura. A través de la Confirmación, el Espíritu Santo nos otorga Sus dones—sabiduría, entendimiento, consejo, fortaleza, ciencia, piedad y temor de Dios—dándonos el poder de vivir como discípulos comprometidos de Cristo. Este sacramento nos sella con el Espíritu, ayudándonos a dar testimonio valiente de nuestra fe y a vivirla plenamente en nuestra vida cotidiana.

La Confirmación tiene sus raíces en el evento de Pentecostés, cuando el Espíritu Santo descendió sobre los apóstoles, llenándolos de valor y celo para proclamar el Evangelio. De manera similar, en la Confirmación, recibimos una efusión del Espíritu Santo que nos equipa para servir a la Iglesia y dar testimonio de Cristo. Durante el sacramento, el obispo o el sacerdote unge al candidato con el santo crisma, diciendo: "Recibe por esta señal el don del Espíritu Santo." Esta unción nos marca como hijos de Dios y fortalece nuestro compromiso con Su misión.

La Confirmación es un encuentro poderoso con el Espíritu Santo, quien nos inspira, guía y fortalece en nuestro camino de fe. Nos llama a una relación más profunda con Cristo y a una mayor responsabilidad en la Iglesia, donde estamos invitados a compartir nuestros dones únicos y vivir como testigos del Evangelio.
