The Sacrament of Marriage is a sacred covenant in which a man and a woman join together as husband and wife, committing to a lifelong partnership of love, faithfulness, and mutual support. Rooted in God’s divine plan, marriage is a vocation through which the couple becomes a living reflection of Christ’s love for His Church. This sacrament invites them to deepen their relationship with each other and with God, building a foundation of love and grace for their family.

Jesus affirmed the sacred nature of marriage when He said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh" (Matthew 19:5-6). In marriage, the couple makes a public and sacrificial commitment to love each other in all circumstances of life. Through this covenant, they open themselves to the gift of new life and the call to build a loving, faith-filled home.

During the marriage ceremony, the couple exchanges vows, freely pledging to love, honor, and remain faithful to each other for life. The presence of the Church community supports and witnesses this commitment, while the Holy Spirit blesses the couple, granting them the grace to grow together in holiness. In marriage, they are called to live as partners in Christ, sharing their unique gifts and becoming a source of strength and love for one another and for those around them.

Marriage is a profound source of joy, spiritual growth, and strength, as the couple walks together on the path of faith.

El Sacramento del Matrimonio es una alianza sagrada en la cual un hombre y una mujer se unen como esposo y esposa, comprometiéndose en una asociación de amor, fidelidad y apoyo mutuo para toda la vida. Enraizado en el plan divino de Dios, el matrimonio es una vocación en la cual la pareja se convierte en un reflejo viviente del amor de Cristo por Su Iglesia. Este sacramento los invita a profundizar su relación entre ellos y con Dios, construyendo una base de amor y gracia para su familia.

Jesús afirmó la naturaleza sagrada del matrimonio cuando dijo: "Por eso el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su esposa, y los dos serán una sola carne" (Mateo 19:5-6). En el matrimonio, la pareja hace un compromiso público y sacrificado de amarse en todas las circunstancias de la vida.
